Animals have always been a passion of mine and the favorite part of my life. From an early age, I found myself gravitating toward animals and wanting to care for them.
With over 14 years of pet care experience, Hiking Hounds places your pets in the best pawsible hands while you're away. I’ve worked in pet rescue since 2009—a background that’s given me more real-world experience (and emergency know-how) than your average pet care professional. In 2014, I founded my own nonprofit pet rescue, and during the pandemic, I pivoted into the tech world, creating Rescue Spot: a pet adoption website and shelter management software. I started Hiking Hounds to stay close to what I love most—spending time with animals—while working from home.
Hiking Hounds is now powered by a small, fully insured, passionate team of experienced pet lovers, each with their own unique background in rescue, animal care, training, and pet sitting. Whether it’s Erin—who channels her love for animals into both caregiving and pet portraiture—or Keebie, who brings over 40 years of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds—we’re united by one goal: treating your pets like family.

At Home Pet Care
The Best for Your Pet
Don’t feel guilty about leaving your pet alone. Our At Home Pet Care service gives your pet maximum care in their own space, even when you can’t be there. We offer overnight at home pet care where one of our trusted sitters will stay at your home and also overnight drop in pet care where we will drop in on your pet multiple times during the day including for meal time, after mealtime, bedtime and breakfast.

With our cage-free pet boarding at the sitters home, your pet will be treated as if they are our own! They will get their own mini vacation while you are away! This is one of our most popular services and fills up fast.
Dog Hiking
Give your pet a taste of the great outdoors
Our dog hikes are great for high energy dogs who really need to get a good amount of exercise in to be happy! We offer private and semi private hikes with customizable times and routes.
